Collaborating with universities offers many advantages, such as access to highly skilled faculty, innovative minds, cutting-edge technology, facilities, and equipment. This partnership can help companies expand their capabilities, access a broader range of expertise, and develop novel products, processes, and services. Additionally, university collaborations can provide access to government funding opportunities, such as Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR), Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR), and Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (IUCRC) grants.

Innovation and Technology
The UNC Office of Technology Commercialization, part of Innovate Carolina, negotiates intellectual property agreements and maintains a database for licensing technologies, copyright, and research tools. It connects industry partners with research, technology, and faculty startups while collaborating with internal university partners to develop and translate discoveries.
UNC Kenan-Flagler’s faculty members partner with program participants to coach and guide them in developing critical and creative thinking skills, collaborative work, identifying personal strengths, and honing underdeveloped ones. Our world-class faculty aims to facilitate growth and development in a supportive and challenging learning environment.
